Friday night cards

Hi crafters, I just wanted to post a couple cards I quickly put together for a craft fair I went to today. I have a bucket of assorted dimensional stickers from K&co and a discount shop here in town, that I went through and picked out some Hydrangeas and some tropical flowers.  I also pulled out some DCWV paper and some paper from the dicsount shop and ribbon from Michaels.  I used my Cricut to punch some circles out and then I used a 1 and 3/4 circle punch and cut holes in the circles and the card to give the card some depth with the windows.  Added thank you and Make a wish stamps with black ink and there ya go.  Hope you like it, and reminder, I am a new Close To My Heart consultant and would be happy to help you out and if you would like to place an order please go to the button on my blog and it will take you to my website and catalog, and if you would like to be a consultant and work with a great company and some fabulous product, you can do that there too,  Happy crafting~~ cathy

It's a girl!!

It's a girl... and no, I did not have a baby, lol.  I created a card today with another tear bear critter Emma Elephant with supplies from The Beary Scrap. I used the Cricut Alphabet cartridge for the baby bottle and the  printed card stock is from Nana's Nursery Baby girl stack from DCWV.  The It's a girl stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael"s and the rhinestone and buttons from my assorted stash.  I used chalk to add dimension to my Elephant and black micron pen.  The pink ribbon I got from Walmart and of course I used ATG gun and mini glue dots.

I hope you like today's project...Happy crafting~~ Cathy

Happy Easter Hilda Hippo

Hello my crafty friends, did everyone have a great weekend??  I know I did, I got to make a few cards and that is always a fun thing.  I got to make a few Easter cards and I had an order for 10 Thank you cards.  I was lucky enough to get most of them done.

The card I have to show you this evening is one I made with one of the Tear Bear Critters, named Hilda Hippo.  I get my patterns from the Beary Scrap.  She is made with hand made Mulberry paper that is very fibrous and makes cute little furry friends to on my cards.  After I put her together, I put together a card made with DCWV papers, I believe the paper is from the  Blossoms and Butterflies stack .  I used The Create a Critter Cricut cartridge for the basket cut, a small punch for the eggs,Cricut Alphabet cartridge, ribbon and my atg gun.

I hope you enjoyed the card today:)))

Cathy visits Kathy

Hello my crafty friends.  Did you all have a nice weekend?  Did you all have fun celebrating St. Patrick's day.  I sure did, the weather here in Maine was gorgeous, specially Saturday.  Come on Spring!!!

Well, today is a special day for me, I was asked to be a guest designer  by Kathy at Kathy's Double K Krafts.  When she asked me, I was so excited..  The blogging  world is still kind of new to me, as well as the card making.  I just started a little over a year ago and I am so in love with it.  Soooo, that being sad, I set my mind to thinking what can I make for this special day, and the card below is what I came up with.  I tried to choose some festive papers to portray the excitement in making the card   for today.  I recently won these papers in a giveaway from  GlimpsesCrafts.com blog and thought they would be fun.

As you can see, I decided to add "Hilda Hippo Tear bear"  which I made with the template and supplies I bought from   http://www.thebearyscrap.com/ recently.  I just love the patterns, they are made from acrylic and last forever.  Below you will find a list of the supplies i used for today's project.

1~Cardstock from DCWV
2~Prima marketing flowers
3~White ribbon
4~Rhinestones from Michael's
5~ Atg gun
6~"Hilda...fabri-tac, Mulberry paper, waterbrush, tools to brush the paper
7~Create a critter cartridge for Easter basket and scalloped square

11~ pop dots
12~ Martha Stewart embossing powder

Going green

First of all, let me say Happy Saint Patricks day to all of you!!  Are you wearing green??? I am not Irish, but I have a little green on today:)  Probably will not be celebrating much today, got a lot of running around to do, but I wanted to get this post up to enter the Crafter's Companion USA Challenge on their challenge blog.  The challenge for March is to go green.. You can either think green as in save the planet or use green on you card, layout or altered item.

I chose to do a card with the Humphrey's "Friends Forever" stamp set. I have to apologies though, I colored them in with Pro markers, and I am new at it, and I only have one set, and unfortunately there is no gray in the set:(   So the little ice cream eaters are a light tan.

I decides to go with the go green as in, using the color green and this is what I came up with.  Below is listed the supplies used to create today's project.

1~Crafter's Companion.."Friends forever" stamp
2~DCWV  Latte card stock and Sweet stackMartha
3~Pro Markers
4~ATG gun
5~Petaloo flowers
6~buttons
7~Faux pearls
8~Wal mart ribbon
9~Martha Stewart Evergreen embossing powder
10~Heat gun
11~Ranger Archival ink jet black
12~VersaMark watermark stamp
13~ Prima flowers
14~ pop dots
If you want to get in on this challenge..go here  or pop on over and see what everyone else has to offer.Have a great day!!!

Scraps to treasure

Hi fellow card makers, thought I would enter Hiding in My Craft Rooms' challenge Super scraps!!  I had not been able to make any cards or blog very much lately, but this week I had a few days off from babysitting my grandchildren, so I tried to squeeze in a few projects.  A couple days ago, I made a few cards, which could probably go as a set, there were a lot of similarities to them...butterflies, ribbon, flowers, sentiments and the fact that I used a lot of scraps to throw them together,
I used the Cricut cartridge Sweet Treats to cut the flowers out and inked them, the butterfly was from the Cricut cartridge which was preloaded in my Expression 2..cricut Alphabet.  The stamped sentiment is from TPC Studio Stamps.  The rhinestones, and faux pearls were assorted pkgs. that there was one or 2 left and dumped in a cup (scraps).  The papers were all from DCWV's Blossoms and Butterflies Stack. This is going to be an 11th hour entry, but if you want to link a project go here .
Thanks for stopping in
                                                Happy craftin~~ Cathy

Thanks for stopping by to see my quick card today:)

Jinger Adams design team call

Yup..I am gonna try, what have I got to lose, certainly not my love of crafting. I am going to try out for the Jinger Adams design team.  Today I just had the need to do something "Springy" since we had a little bit of snow last night, after having several nice days in a row.  So I took out my Cricut Expression2  ( actually it lives on my kitchen counter, he he he) and went through my selection of cartridges.  I recently purchased the Stretch you Imagination cartridge and have not used it yet, so this is what I decided on.
I decided to make an easel card, I love them.  The finished card size is 5x5   Below is a list of supplies used to complete my project

1~Cricut Stretch Your Imagination
2~Butterflies from MBTreasurista
3~purple rhinestones
4~pop dots from Glue Dot
5~ATG gun adhesive
6~DCWV papers

Celebrate the Occasion challenge 54

Today I was playing around with some papers and embellishment I got from a project I submitted at Creations Etcetera.  I loved the papers, and I am sorry I do not know the name of the papers.  I am submitting an easel card.  The challenge was that you had to use metal, so I am hoping the button qualifies. The stamps are from TPC Studio...Faithful Greetings.  I used a small flower punch for the little flowers and the Ranger Distress ink..aged linen. and some faux pearls,  You can go here and check the challenge out and try for yourself.  Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting~~  Cathy

Wobble Wednesday Challenge entry

In case you have not heard yet, there is a challenge going on at Wobble Wednesday.  It started on the 14th and they will have a new challenge each week.  Wobbles are the cutest little gadget that you ad to the back of one of your die cuts to give it a little "wiggle" when you pull it back and let it go. Makes any project fun!!!
Being that we are getting closer to Spring and Easter, I decides to do my card with that in mind.  I took out my go to cartridge..Cricuts' Create a Critter and cut out a cute little Chickie and the Broken Egg and put him on an Action wobble, on an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card using DCWV card stock, solid color and an 8 1/4 x 5 1/4 mat from the Main Street Stack.  I used the ATG gun to attach the the mats, the stamp is from Jaded Blossom Easter Treats set, , a flower from Prima and a couple small ones from my stash, and Ranger Distress inks on the egg and the chick.  I also used a white gel pen for chickie's belly and some purple Rhinestones and voila...easy peasy.  Oh and I almost forget, I used the stamp set too to stamps some eggs, heat embossed them and then colored with Pro Markers. Hope you like the card, and if you want to check out the challenge go here.

How did I get in to Cricut????

I am going to share how I got into Cricut in order to have a chance at winning the Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridge Sophie!!

Some time ago I saw advertisements for the Cricut cutting machine and thought...Wow, that looks like fun, maybe someday....
Then a good friend of mine invited me to an overnight weekend of scrapbooking, where there were LOTS of crafty women using their Cricuts. I was in awe and green with envy.  I went there with some scissors, glue and photos and some paper and came home with a bunch of Die cuts that the fellow crafters cut for me on their machines (crafters are the best people), and the rest was history. Two months later, at Christmas, my darling husband bought me a Personal Cricut.  I LOVE it!!!  This year he bought me the Cricut Expression 2.  I wake up thinking about what I am going to do next on it, and go to sleep wondering the same thing for the next day..obsessive. hahaha.
If you would like a chance to win the Sophie cartridge go on over and tell your story here

In the mean time  Happy Crafting:)))
