Card Creating Tueasday @ MCCR

Welcome to my Design Team post for Card Creating Tuesday.  My project today is a card, that was to be mostly pink, by bringing awareness to womens' breast health, by which is recognized in general by a pink ribbon.  My card, while it is mostly pink, I was also thinking that the month is October in which womens breast health is recognized, as well as halloween, so i combined the 2 and tried to made a little card of encouragement and to let someone know I care and are here for them.

I used the 4 Birds on parade cartridge to cut the bird vampie count, at 3 1/2 inches and the sentiment.  I used some scrap papers from my stash, not sure what company, sorry.   The flowers were cut from the Artiste cartridge and then I put a pink Rhinestone from EK Success.  The rhinestone swirl in the upper right corner is from Ek Success too..  On the white mat I cut one end with a Martha Stewart border punc.

Here is the lil bird close up, I used Tim Holtz Antique Linen Ditress ink  on  the wing tips and   gelpen for nose and eyes.

To fnish it off, on the inside, I used a Creative memmories punch to add a pink ribbon.  So there you have it:)  I hope you like it.  To see more wonderful projects from other design Team members go to Ericas' My Cricut Craft roo  here>  mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday?

Good morning friends, this is my design team post for My Cricut Craft Room.  Today is Would You Ever Guess Wdenesday, and what we do on this day is make a project, not using the main Character images, and trying to show other ways, other then the obvious ones, on using a cut or cartridge.  This week I have to use a Create A Critter cartridg and not use the Animal cuts.

Papers used were from Michael's Recollections collections and DCWV and MY Mind's Eye. What I decided to do was take the Stamp cut on page 67  as an accessory, and instead of using it as a stamp, I made it into a picture frame.  I cut it out at 5 1/2.  I then took a piece of My Minds Eye and made the Mat.  Cut it at 3 1/4 by 4 1/4.     I then cut a log on page 72 in the accessory column at 1 1/2 and inked it with TH distress ink Walnut stain.  My next cut was the behive on page 68, cut at 2 1/2, and the edges were inked as well, and then a small piece of Trendy twine was added at the top.  Next I used the  flower accessory cut on page 69. cut at 2 inches.

Lastly I used the Artiste cartridge to make a bow on the bottom of the card....I just Love this feature!!   After I cut it out, I used a white gel pen to make Faux stitching around the edges. and added a Rhinestone brad to the center.  I used the stamp Your the Best, from CTMH. For bling, I used Bo Bunny gems .

Well that is today's project, hope you like it, leave a comment:) I love them.

MCCR Letter "O" post

Welcome to my blog, this is my, My Cricut Craft Room Design team post.  Today's theme is a project from a cartridge starting with the letter "O" or a character starting with the letter "O".  And so before I show you what I chose to do, I want to briefly explain the Pink Graphics.   We want to bring awareness to  breast cancer and the people that have, are, or will be suffering from it.  Please make sure you keep your regular womens health check up, early detection is the key.  Our part in the months awareness is to incorporate some how in our projects a lot or just a little Pink.

For my letter "O" project I used the Cricut Essentials, which is programmed into my Expression 2 machine to cut the orange,(which is not actually an orange on the cartridge, but I made it work, it looks like one).  I cut is at 2 1/2 inches, and inked it up with Spiced Marmalade by Tim Holtz.  I saved the little triangle ections that came from the inner orange and faux stitched them and added Bo Bunny gems, to embellish:)  I then placed a letter you chipboard piece below the orange and added the word sweet cut form the Sweet Treats cartridge.  I cut it out twice, once in orange and again in Pink.  Voila... ORNAGE U SWEET.

On the inside of the card I cut a piece of white card stock and added a pice of the card stock I was using and a Petaloo flower. Using a Stampin up stamp, I added the "Thanks".  Other supplies used, zig pen, atg gun and pop dots and black micro pen.

The patterned card stock was from the Echo Park Hello Summer card pack.
Well, I hope you liked todays project, to see more fun projects and amazing talent head over to Ericas' at  http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

MCCR October 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day ONE

You should have started at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ if not please start at the beginning.

Welcome to the 100 cricut cartridge Blog Hop:) For this months hop the four cartridges I chose to use were Wrap It Up, Art Philosophy, Happily Ever After and Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art.

For the first project I used all four of the cartridges, the pumpkin and vines were from the Happily Ever After, the bat and cat were  from MS Seasonal Cake Art..the border, inside sentiment from Wrap it up and the card from Art Philosophy cartridge. I added a few Jolees embellishments, the cat has a sucker and the bat scooped up some candy:)

The second card is from Art Philosophy.

It was very simle but it makes a quick, nice looking card. I use the card function and cut the card out, which has starscut out, all I had to do is cut out some more stars in 3 different sizes and add shadows to them with colonial white card stock from Close to My Heart and I used the Sonoma papers. I then added a couple rhinestone diamonds an antique buttin embellishment and ribbin and Treny twine.

On the inside I used the CTMH stamp "Life Is Good" anf the Desert Sand stamp pad and the Smokey Plum.  I also used the Fiskar corner punch. On the back side, I added a white heat cut out and stmped on it Handmade with love in light pink, for Breast Cancer awareness this month.  So that is it, thanks for stopping by.

MCCR Scrap book Friday

Hello my crafting friends, this is my design team post for My Cricut craft Room. Today is Scrapbook Friday and we are celebrating  World Teachers day and doing layouts featuring Back to School.  I did a 2 page layout, showing things that young children love about going back to school.  When they are young they like the idea of having their  "own" Glue, Scissors, Crayons, Backpack and of course their new teachers and friends.  Before I get to the details of my post though, I want to mention the Pink Graphics.  We are using the pink to show awareness of the people who have had or know someone sufffering with breast cancer, we know it can be devastating and we want to make you aware so you will have your self checked regularly.  We as a team will inc orporate the color in to our projects in solidarity.  My pink is in the rosey pink cheeks of the apple and the glue:)

Simply Charmed has adorable school supply images, so I used it to cut out the scissors and glue and carayons, using DCWV cardstock, and of course  I added some google eyes to give them some character.   I then used Art Philosophy to cut out the 1 2 3 and A B C.  I  cut each out 2 times , once in a light orang and the second in a light blue, glued them together a little offset to add dimension.

On the backpack  I added a rhinestone brad as a button abd some rhinestone flowers to dress it up a bit. and did some faux stitching, on this as well as a lot of the other elements.

For a lot of the matting and strips of paper I used the DCWV Grade School pack. I love the one above which looks like a chalk board.  I also used one of Martha Stewart's Border punches, for the yellow border strip, not sure of the name, got it at a yard sale.  In the corner I found a button and tied a bow with twine.

I aslo found a cute apple to add from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  By the way most of the characters were cut at 4 inches, the apple at 3. One of the final touches was a strip of rick rack down the sides.
Other supplies used in creating the layouts were, pop dots, white and black gel pens ATG gun, zig pen, and paper trimmer.  I hope you enjoyed today's project and it makes you want to get a start on your childs back to school layouts, have a great day.
