Christmas stars

I just wanted to do a quick post to show you some more craft fair  goodies I have been making.  I saw something like these the other day and it inspired me to try them. I can not remember if I saw them on Pinterest, or blogger or FB. but if the oringinal artist is out there please let me know I would love to give you recognition.  I am going to call these Christmas star pots.  the original crafter had these stars in Spools, but i had these small flower pots kicking around, they were rejects from a dowel mill, they all have a defect.  Made me think of Rudolph cartoon and the "misfit" toys,  I hated to toss or burn these wooden pots so I gavr them a purpose, table centerpieces or fireplace or shelf decor.  Someone mentioned they would make cute table place markers.   Any how, List of supplies used:

acrylic paint
Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges
ribbon
CTMH inks and stamps
glue gun
Bo Bunny gems
cotton bandages (tops of mittens and stockings)
Crafters Moss
white Flock (patches glued on to look like patches of snow)
Bells
Dowels
assrted Christmas papers
Buttons

Hope you like them, if you have any questions, be sure to message me!

List of products used:
Cricut
Artiste cartridge
Cricut Sampler
Ribbons And Rosettes
Zig Pen
Rubber cement
DCWV..The Crafty Stack
Jolee's candy/cross
Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress pad Olive green

Here is my project about me:

To me, my family is the center of everything, as you can see it the layout, and next is the extension of my family, my pets, a golden retriever named Shelby, cat ma==named Lois and a Rosey Bourke parakeet names Sammy

Through my whole marriage, my husband has been my constant companion and the love of my life, we do everything together (except craft.lol) and have fun doing it:)
and what has kept us together is out love and God, and our faith.

Another thing about me is I am a "Chocoholic".  Have been for years, there is no cure, I am hopeless! I showed this with the little pieces of candy I got from Jolee's Halloween stickers.

Another love of my life is flowers, I love growing them indoors, in pots.  When I was younger, (not that I am that old),  I used to spend a lot of time out door in flower gardens I had started.  My favorites are roses and lillies.  So I put some roses on the layout to represent that, as well as a stick pin I made.

And lastly I added a little spool of thread next to the small journal paper, which does a quick description ALL ABOUT ME.

Now your off to the talented Nadja.

Rosette Christmas tree

Good afternoon friends, today I wanted to share with you a project I did this morning.  I saw a Rosette Christmas tree yesterday posted on Facebook and checked out others on line and at Archivers.  Loved it, so decided I would  like to try it, I try everything at least once.lol

It is a 12 rosette Christmas tree, but I realized as I was putting it together...I accidentally omitted one..oh well, I still like it.  Your basic supplies, is paper score tape or red sticky tape to hold rosettes together as you form them.  I cut pieces of cardboard to put in between each layer, although you probably do not have to if you do not want to.  You can cut your edges with border punch if you like too.  I forgot to, or I would have. You also need a glue gun, but be careful, do not burn yourself 3 times like me.lol  I used some Christmas papers from a pile of loose papers I had.

these are the sizes you will need for this tree, or you can tweak to your liking.

Twelve Rosette Layered Christmas Tree

First Layer: 36” x 4.5”
Second Layer: 36” x 4”
Third Layer: 36” x 3.5
Fourth Layer: 24” x 3”
Fifth Layer: 24” x 2I.5”
Sixth Layer: 24” x 2.25”
Seventh Layer: 22” x 1.75
Eighth Layer: 20” x 1.5”
Ninth Layer: 20 x 1.25”
Tenth Layer: 18” x 1”
Eleventh Layer: 15” x ¾”
Twelfth Layer: 12” x ½”

Top Layer 12” x ½” (just stand on end – don’t make a rosette to lay down)

Score each strip at 1/2 inches.  It is easier to score paper first and cut strips after.

I laid the top rosette down like the rest, not sure what I am going to put on the top yet.

Hope you enjoyed my post, please come back!!!

Count on me:)

Hello my friends, today I wanted to post a card, cause it has been a couple days, but I did not get to craft today, decided to geather my kids and paint my ceiling and walls in my bedroom. Needless to say, it was an all day job, and all my muscles are sore, got in some crazy positions to paint.  My fingers even hurt.lol

So what I decided to do was pull out a card I made the other day.  I alwys keep a reserve.hahaha.

This card I made using DCWV papers.  I tried to keep this a fun and cheery card, If is for someone who needs a little lovein and warm wishes that is struggling with breast cancer. Hence the pink ribbon on the unside of the card.

I did the cute bumble bee with the Create A  Critter cartridge and the "count on me " sentiment from
3 Birds on Parade.  I added white brads for flower centers as well as some Bo Bunny bling.

 Thanks for checking in, if there is anything you need to know, such as sizes, message me.

Magical Keys!!

Santa's Magical Keys

Hi everyone, how we doing today, the 6th of November, voting day.  Did you vote??  I did. I was on the road today, most of the day, but when I got back in town, I made sure my husband and I voted.  I will not disclose how I voted, but I will say I hope the one who will do the best for the the country wins.

Now on to my project  for today.  I saw this idea on Pinterest, but I designed my own and created my own poem for the back.  I made some tags with which there are magical keys for those children who have NO chimneys for Santa to slide down, or homes that the parents lock the doors at night.  The children just leave the key out side the door and only Santa can use them to get in:)

For the tags, I cut them out with the Art Philosophy cartridge, and also used Winter Frolic cartridge too.

Other supplies used were:
Recollection paper
Echo park paper
Alphabets stamp set from Michaels
Tim Holtz keys
assorted ribbons
Bo Bunny gems
Burlap
fabritac
atg gun
liquid Glass
lace with tear drop pearls
Flat back pearls from MB Treasurista
3 Girl Jam ribbon
Knitted glove from local craft store
Stampin Up Merry Christmas stamp

I hope I inspired you to create your own!!!!

MCCR November 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Good morning crafters, and welcome to..
 November's My Cricut Craft Rooms 100 Cartridge Blog Hop, day 2.  Glad you are here.  This months theme is Christmas.  I realise we have not had thanksgiving yet, but we want to give you ideas and inspiration for your holiday card making and decorations and gifts.  There is nothing nicer and more cherished than Home made.     So here we go........

Card #1

The first of the cartridges I used was the  Winter Frolic cardtridge, which has some wonderful features and images,  There is something in there for everyone.  My card is a 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock folded in half, on which I used papers from DCWV's Seasonal stack.  I made 4 mats, each 1/4 inch shorter than the other.  And then on them I used 2 mats 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 and cut 2 pieces of patterend paper 1/4 in smaller.   On one mat I put a strings of  colored Rhinestones and a picece of colonial white cardstock that I used a friends' Martha Stewart "Gift" border punch, did not get the name but going to research it and put it on my Christmas list. hehehe.

On the second mat, I cut out a Gift giving mouse from Winter Frolic with Recollections card stock and papers from DCWV and Bo Bunny.  The mouse was at 3.5 inches.  On the inside I used the phrase "For You" .

                                                                                            ~~~
                                                                                          Card #2
 This card was made with the Paisleycartridge, It is 5 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2.  There is a 3 and 1/2 inch wide band that I made to go around the card to keep it closed. and decorated it with beautiful roses from the Artiste cartridge. and added some brown and rose colored leaves, as well as 2 ornaments i cut from Artiste as a tie in to go with the patterned paper from DCWV Christmas and Winter Stack.  At the top of both fold are swirls of pink rhinestones I got at walmart in the Clearance bin.
On the inside I cut out a cute monkey from Paisley with a sucker.  he is such a cutie.lol  "happy Holidays comes from the Winter Frolic cartridge.  On the 2 side flaps I put some Christmas trees from WF as well.
I just LOVE the roses from Artiste and Art Philosophy!!
 ~~
Card #3
 This card I made with Echo park papers from last year.  The cartridge is 3 Birds on Parade. This is another versatile cartridge.  I love it.  The santa bird that I cut from the 3 Birds cartridge is sitting on an action wobble. I had recorded a small video to show you how he dances, but could  not get it to load, sorry.  I hade some scalloped square mats to put him on that was embossed as well with Holly leaves.
I tried to take a close up picture of the round glass balls that matched the papers,  a little blurry, I love them!  They are Crystal candy Dots from Pebbles INC.  On the inside I used the sentiment from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.
Card #4
This is a "telescoping card".  The bird is from 3 Birds on Parade, and all the rest of the cuts are from the Artiste cartridge.  Papers used were a combination of Close To My Heart and Recollections.  Th cold little biry was cut at 3 inches. I used a little Stickles on  his pom pom and the liner of his boots.   The mittens on the middle section were cut at 2 inches with a shadow.  I used trendy twine to tie them together.  Then added a little Bling:) I used several different shapes on each layer to make it easy to distinguish the layers.
The different cuts that were used were on pages 79, 35 and 31 of the Artiste booklet.
This is what the card looks like fully opened.  On the last layer I added the sentiment...Baby it's cold outside..i like how it turned out. if you would like to try this typ of card and have nevertried it here is a link to a tutorial. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/telescopingcard/
Other supplies  used in making the cards, Expression2, Fiskars trimmer, paper piercer, gel pens, atg gun, dimensionals, brads, Tim Holts distress inks,  Zig pen Liquid glass and fabritac.
Hope you enjoyed my projects today and they inspired you to try something new.
