MCCR Scrapbook Friday

Good morning everyone and welcome to my blog for My Cricut Craft Room's Scrapbook Friday and today's project is to include characters.  Well in my family we consider characters our stuffed animals, and when I think of stuffed animals, I think of the baby lamb and teddy bear I had when I was young, so I made a baby layout with the characters I remember growing up.  I used the cartridge Create a Critter, because it was the cartridge I knew there was both sheep and teddies in.

I had fun making this layout, for example when I cut out the clouds from the cartridge, they appeared to have a smile on them, don't you agree??  So I decided to put some googley eyes on them to make it fun:)  For the sheep, I cut one of them at 4 inches and the other at 3".  I cut everything from the same page in the booklet for the sheep.  The teddy bear I had already had cut at 3 1/2" and put together from another project and added it to the layout.   The frame I cut from the Fancy Frames cartridge at 5 inches.

I used a Martha Sterwart punch for underneath the box that holds the sentiment sweet dreams, not sure the name of it, it is borrowed. I then added a flower shaped Gem to dress it up a little.   The papers used is colorbok and Recollections, and ATD.  Other supplies used were inks from Tim Holtz and studio G, and Close To My Heart.  My Cricut, paper trimmer atg gun, flowers from Michaels and a button....I think that is it:)  I hope you enjoyed the layout today, and hope you have a great day...... Now you will want to head over to Erica's to see more projects from the Design team, so here ya go..... http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

The eyes have it

Good evening to all my crafting friends........
I have made several Halloween cards today, and what fun I had, the creative juices were flowing.  One thing that scares me about Halloween time is spooky eyes, you know the ones...the ones that you think are in the closet or under your bed or in the wood.....well my imagination can run wild, so I thought I would make a card that would make those "eyes"  more fun.. and VOILA!

Who can be scared of these.lol   I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge It has some adorable Halloween costumes.  I found the skeleton on there and cut him out at 4 inches and inked him with Tim Holtz Antique Linen to give him an aged look and a black gel pen to out line the face. Then I cut out a pumpkin at 2 inches and did the same thing with inking but then inked leaves and stem with green.

On the same cartridge i cut the tree at 5 1/2 inches and inked it with walnut stain. and put in on the card with dimentional squares.  The card is 8 ans 1/2 by 5 1/2.  Colors for card and mats are obviously Halloween colors White orange and black.  Next I cut out a moon and inked with orange,  and the sentiment I used Closse To My Heart letters and black ink to stamp BOO.  And lastly, before adding the white highlitght dots I added a bunch of peeking googley eyes in different colors and sizes.  Now they do not look so scarey, kinda cute:)

thanks for peeking in:)   Happy Crafting  ~~ Cathy

WYEGW

Good morning to you all.  Today is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday, and this is my design team post for this weeks theme....Tags. I have been having fun making my Halloween cards and some Christmas cards.  I thought I would get an early start.  Sooo, on that note, I thought,I wonder if you could incorporate tags in a card, and not have them be used as a tag normally would be, and this is what I came up with.....
For my project I pulled out 2 cartridges....Paper Doll Dress Up and Sweet Treats and Martha Stewart seasonal Cake cartridges.  I cut out 4 tags.

I cut them out in traditional Halloween colors. These were cut from  the Sweet Treats cartridge, it has a lot of nice tag cuts.  Then I took out my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge to start cutting the  accessories to bring my tags to life:)

For Frankenstein, I cut a square tag cut, and then there was a "Shift" cut for the scallop top, which worked out great for his head. and the belt cut came from the PDDU cartridge for the Santa Claus.  I used a black gel pen to give him a mouth and some scars.
For the witch, I used the rectangular tag, then cut the witch hat from PDDU as well as the broom.  For her hair, I cut the squiggly lines that went to one of the tag cuts, and inked them a little.
For the ghost, I cut a tag with a rounded top and scalloped bottom, and cut the Halloween goodie bag from PDDU.
In the background, I cut a fence from PDDU, and inked it up, and the sentiment I got from MS Seasonal cake cartridge.

On the inside.. I had a rectangle tag, cut the pumpkin top from PDDU as well as the pumpkin face  The Happy Halloween came from Martha Stewarts seasonal cake Cartridge.

The card is an 8 1/2 by 11 scored in half.  Other supplies used in making the card are as follows....

White gel pen
white card stock
I believe the pattern paper is DCWV, not positive, the cover came off and I can not remember, sorry.
Cricut machine
Fiskars trimmer
atg gun
zig pen
Tim holtz distress ink
Paper punches for eyes
Buttons
That is it:)  I hope you leave here sayin...I would have never guessed!!

A little birdie told me.......

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I wanted to post a card I made with my Close to My Heart supplies.  I bought the Colonial white Die cut cards and envelopes and the stamp set. Life is Tweet, recent;y and decided to dig them out and make a card with them.   I used the papers from the Florentine collection,   I cut the mat with :Brown bag and then layered the Florentine paper..then I took a chip board tag and inked it with Tim Holtz walnut stain, cut a piece of colonial white and a piece of Florentine , inked them and the adhered them to the tag, and took the little flowers in the Life is Tweet set and stamped with the Autumn terracotta from CTMH. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment, " a little birdie told me"  in Olive ink.

I then added a butterfly that I got from MB Treasurista and tied some twine through the hole in the tag with Twine from Close to My Heart.    For the flap on the end, I used the same papers and stamp set to add flowers along the edge, and colored the flowers in with coordinating marker.

On the inside of the card I mated with Kraft card stock and Florentine papers amd stamped the image with Cocoa ink and a stamp from Life is Tweet.  I added a few small rhinestones from CTMH and there you have it!!  It's your Anniversary!!  I hope you like today;s project and you will want to come back again....have a crafty day............  Cathy

How Does Your Garden Grow?? Blog hop

Hello my crafty friends, today is the How Does Your Garden Grow Blog hop, and there are a real bunch of talented ladies here today, and I am so happy to be among them sharing  today You should have come here from Ericas' blog at  http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ , if not you will want to go there to start at the beginning, cause you will not want to miss any of the talent today.

For my project today,  I decided to make a POP UP card, using a flower that I saw in the Close To My Heart Idea Book, It is very simple and fun.  You basically cut a bunch of hearts, all the same size, score them in half, and then lay them in a circle and glue them down. So I did that and added a pearl to the center.  I used Core'dinations card stock for the base and mat. then I used patteren paper from Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine collection.  Across the bottom, I used a lacey paper strip I got from a good friend, which I ran through my Zyron sticker maker and adhered to the bottom of the card .

I  also used some thin yellow ribbon to dress up the front of the card.

For the inside, I took another piece of cardstock (this is an A2 size card) and cut it 1/4 of an inch shorter all the way around. Scored it in half, and then made ( 2 ) 1 and 1/4 inch cuts roughly in the center about 1 and 1/2 inches wide, and then  pushed the fold in and cut another small slit on the top cut, approximately 3/4 inches wide. If you can not get a visual, ( I kick myself for not taking picks as I did it, live and learn) there are tutorials on the web for pop up cards.  After the cuts were made, I adhered the green inside card stock to the base.
Here is a picture of the inside of the card, trying to show the 2 cuts that make the pop up "shelves".   The Inside was decorated with lots of flowers and a watering can, which I got from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.  Below is a side view...

On the inside I also used some paper lace, and more Bo Bunny papers.  I  added rhinestone to the flowers centers .  The inside sentiment is from Stampin up and I stamped it on a white chipboard piece and inked around the edge with yellow and orange ink.   The small flowers are from a punch , not sure the brand. :(
Other supplies used:
Atg gun
zig pen
butterfly gems on front of card
Cricut Expression 2
