Home Decor with Helmar

Hello fellow crafters, Cathy here to share my Home decor project using Helmar adhesives.
I do not know about you but where I come from, we have had a whole lot of snow, so I decided I need a diversion, so figured I would do an Easter/Spring decor project..

first, I acquired 3 pieces of pine wood, one at 2x4x8 and 2 @ 2x4 x6.  I sanded them...

Then I purchased some white chalk paint, and gave each of them 3 coats of paint,

Then I took 3 coordinating scraps of cloth in bright spring colors and cut them out into bunny ear shapes and pressed them.

then I tied each of the fabric ears into aow in the middle

My next step I took thin floral wire and wrapped it around a pencil several time and then trimmed off.
I made several "loopy" wires.

With a couple of them I tird them around the ears to make hair for the bunnies...

For noses, I took some wooden hearts I got for Christmas and painted then light pink/

I wanted the ears to have a little stiffness, so I used my HelmarFabric Stiffner

I poured a little in a paper plate and brushed it on the backside of each ear and then ...

Draped them over bottle to dry.

I used my one inch paper punch and punched out enough circles to make 3 for each eye so they would be thick. and used Helmar Craft glue to hold them together.

Next I put down some small globs of Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to hold the eyes on the boards..it is just like using a glue gun without the burn...

I now want something thick to be able to hold my wire whiskers and the wooden heart nose and the ears and hair on top,..and what better to do that than the Helmar Scrap Dots

and Voila!! the finished Bunnies!!

Helmar products used...
Helmar Scrap Dots,
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Helmar Craft Glue
Helmar Fabric Stiffener

Hope you like today's Home Decor project..thanks for stopping ,

Halloween with Helmar

Happy Halloween everyone!!!  Cathy here today to share a project I made using Helmar adhesives.  I have made some clear acetate pillow boxes for Halloween sweets..  These are great to give to those special little ones coming to your door on Halloween night.
Below is a picture of the supplies used to complete these little cuties:

Really Reasonable Ribbon
Tim Holtz distress inks
CTMH Cardstock
clear pillow boxes
CTMH inks and stamps
black micron pen/ white gel pen
Ka Doodle Bug Designs file~CC GOt Candy Ghost

To start off I cut pattern paper 1 and 1/2 inches by 8 inches and  another at 2 by 8, added the Helmar Runner adhesive to the thinner strip to stick to the 2 inch strip.

I used the Helmar Craft Glue to hold the strips onto the pillows...

Next I cut the pieces out from the KaDoodle bug Designs SVG file and layed out on the table to ink the edges with the Tim Holtz distress inks to give them dimension.

Then I assembeld them with a glue pen.

Here are the stamp sets I used for the tag I put on the pillows, on the back I stamped a spider and BOO on the front...

I then took out the ribbons and the Helmar Fabric Glue and glued the ribbon to the pillow paper wraps...

then the Boo tags were tied on with assorted colored twine from my stash...

Next I wanted to add the ghosts to the pillows and wanted to make sure they stayed attatched and so I used the Helmar Super Tac Glue..

Here they are all assembled,

and here they are with CANDY in them!!

I hope you like my Halloween goodie bag. and also that you have a safe night Trick or Treating..

4th of July with Helmar

Hello fellow crafters, Cathy here with a fun project for the 4th of July using Helmar adhesives.

I started with 3 plain canning jars..

I cut out some stars and a liberty bell out of vinyl for two jars and painted one with blue chalk paint (3 coats) and the other with red. (make sure to let dry between coats) .  After the paint is dry, Spray with the Helmar Crystal Kote Gloss varnish and once that is dry peel away the varnish images.

the 3rd jar... I used Helmar Decoupage to adhere white tissue paper to it by attaching it with the Decoupage and then painting a coat of decoupage over it and let it dry.

After the jar is dried, I then took it out doors to spray a coat of Helmar Crystal Kote Gloss Varnish to seal it.

To decorate, I made a paper pinwheel and used Helmar Premium Craft glue to decorate with rhinestones and flowers and added it to the jar with the pinwheel

Inside the jars I added some dry bean..you could use dry popcorn kernels or rice...and place a small tealight in the center and voila..you have a fun Fourth of July decor...
Happy 4th of July!!

Have fun Creating..Cathy
