Been Busy

I have been busy lately shopping, babysitting, crafting, cleaning, baking and wrapping.  Have not been posting though and I am sorry, I will get back into the swing of things after the holidays when things calm down. I have been doing Christmas cards and mailing them as quick as I make them.  I did however sell quite a few at the last 2 fairs i went to, so after the holidays I will restock.  I packaged them up as gifts as well, hope the receivers like them.
I have, however, been on a few blog hops at night and u-streams while I try to wind down for the evening, and am so amazed at the talent out there.  I decided I am going to try a little scrapbook layouts and some mini albums after the holidays.  Can not wait to start.
Since I feel like  I have come to know a lot of you and we are friends, and since I do dot know all your addresses, I wanted to give you all a Christmas card through bloggy land, for Christmas.  I made this card and put an action wobble behind Santa:)   Love those Action Wobbles, makes Santa very happy:)

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! Be Safe and happy and healthy.  Tomorrow I will not be around, busy day celebrating the holiday with my husbands family and celebrating my birthday, yippee.  I will try not to eat too much.  Thank you all for your inspiration:)

My third Explosion box!

there, I made my third explosion box, but the first one i published.  I love doing them with Christmas papers/. They are relatively easy, I found the hardest part was picking the papers.  I used the Wrap It Up cartridge from Cricut to cut the flower gift box on the inside center, and other than that, I used ribbon I got at Wal mart and papers from Wal mart and Designs on Cloud nine and DCWV,  Hope you like it.
happy crafting and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Star card and good news

I  thought I would publish a card I recently made after watching a Ustream tutorial  from Elsa from Just a Few Designs.  She is a talented lady.  I had slowed down posting because as some of you may know i recently lost my mother to a severe case of pneumonia. I am now bouncing back a little.  I find card making and paper crafting very therapeutic.
Here is my supply list:  patterned paper from K&Co
Stickles glitter glue
Butterflies cut from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge
assorted flowers from my stash
buttons
stamp from $1 bin at Joann's
markers and craft glue.
The star card is real easy to make, I just need to find envelopes for them or make my own.lol

For my good news....... the on-line craft store, Consumer Crafts, contacted me and wanted to highlight me and a Halloween wreath I made with paper rosettes.  I was flattered and excited. Above is the wreath. If you want to see the post go to  www.craftsunleashed and check it out.
My other good news for me is I had my first craft fair this weekend and me and my daughter in law did real good for our first one, soooooo we scheduled another one.
Happy crafting and Happy Halloween

sad day:(

I do not have many followers, but for those of you that do, and those that said a prayer for my mom, I thank you.  Thank you.  But she was not strong enough to fight, and the Good Lord called her home yesterday.  I miss her already.

Yeah me:)

I entered one of my cards in a contest that the Official Cricut Blog held for the World card Making day, and I was one of three winners!!!  I won a Cricut Cuttlebug.  I have been wanting one for a long time.  And my wonderful husband of 31 years bought me an early Christmas/birthday/ mothers day gift.......The new Cricut Expression 2.  But the best news of all is my mom was taken of a ventilator today, and is breathing with the aide of an oxygen mask and oxygen.   She has been in I.C.U.  with a bad case of pneumonia in both lungs.  This was a good day:)
I am going to be playing with my new toy tonight.                cathy

prayers needed

Hello my bloggy friends, my mom is not doing well, double pneumonia, in ICU with fluid building up and put on ventilator.  My heart is breaking for her, and would love it if you can ask our Lord for help.  I believe in the power of prayer, so please.  Thank you

POISON and a Chin??

A few days ago I sat down and put together another Halloween card with with my Cloud 9 Design papers, on a 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 card stock scored in half. I pulled out the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake cartridge for the Poison sign, the Mickey Mouse and friends, for the Leaves, and Paper Doll Dress up. for our little ghost friend. I added some googily eyes and some rhinestones for a little bling as well as some layered flowers from George's basic shapes cartridge. Then I put a golden yellow ribbon from Wal mart on. Hope you like it. I have been busy babysitting my grandson a lot lately, so haven't been able to craft much, but I hope to this weekend. so I am posting my card and a picture of one of my babies:)

Another Halloween card!!I Center step

It is amazing how quickly scraps can accumulate. So today, after I made some cards, I went through my scraps and made use of them. The center step card is totally scraps. I used paper doll Dress up for the cuts, as well as Wrap It Up too. The Trick or Treat stamp is from the Dollar bin at Michael's. I put pop dots behind the pumpkins. Thanks for letting me share my project with you today:)
Cathy

Halloween cards:)

s

Today I made 2 cards, with Disney in mind. I used Fall and Halloweeen as the theme. Fall is just around the corner. Leaves are starting to change already where I live, pretty, but sad at the same time.
For cartridges I used Disney's Mickey and Friends, George's basic shapes , Paper Doll dress Up, and Wrap it Up. I used ribbon from Walmart, as well as Rhinestones , and buttons. The card is measured at 8 and 1/2 by 5 and 1/2. The paper I used was DCWV and Cloud9 Design

I am entering these cards into the Disney Pixar link-up party , go to Here to link you project.

Altered spoon mini

I saw on a blog...Michelle's Thought of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker, I beautiful project. a Kitchen spoon made into a mini album..It got me to thinking about a couple of wooden spoons that i bought on clearance several years ago figuring I would find something to do with them, and I did..Mine is not as pretty as hers, but I had fun just the same .
Basic shapes cart, and cut the mats 4 inches, the pattern paper 3 1/2 and then another mat for mounting picture on at 3 inches. I attached them together on a strip of ribbon. folded them up afterwards and tied the ribbon to hold in place.
One of the spoons was a booger and would not keep the mats in place after I tied the bow, so I attached a crocheted flower to the bottom of the spoon to keep it there. The Christmas bell and the poinsettia were cut from the Wrap it Up cartridge. I believe the ctus were 4 inches as well.
Hope you liked my version.

Altered door knob signs:)

a few gift card purses

Here are a few gift card purses I did today too. The are all cut from a 6x6 piece of double sided card stock or patterned paper. I used button and rhinestones and Cricut cut flowers, to embellish and I used my assorted ribbons for the handles.. To keep the card purse from popping opened, I used white velcro circles and I would use buttons or jewel brads or bigger bling for a fake purse closure. the papers were DCWV and American craft and K&Company. On the inside I cut stips of plain card stock and adhered it with sticky tape on ends and a small piece on bottom of strip to put gift card in so it won't fall out the bottom. and the added assorted sentiment to the bottom inside of the purse. Hope the explanation is understandable. I am not a pro, just do this cause I LOVE IT!!
Hope you enjoy!!

A pair of packaged puppies project posted...say that ten times fast:)

Here is a pair of cards I made today using my Create a Critter cartridge,(my go to cartridge). The card size is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. The puppies were cut at 2 1/2 and the gift box is 1 1/2 x 2 3/4.
The bone is 1 1/2 high and I used a stamp that says Happy Holidays that I got at Michaels' from a set. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink from Tim Holtz on one and Barn door on the other one.. The papers was from Cloud9Design and papers I got from Walmart. The gold ribbon I got from a discount bin at Wal Mart. ( gotta get discounts when we can!!) I used a white gel pen on ears and noses and chalks on the puppy cheeks:)
Hope you enjoyed!!

ANOTHER EASEL CARD FOR HALLOWEEN

* Here is another easel card. I did the same size finished card as the last one...5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I like this size as opposed to the 4x4 I was making, cause you can embellish more. Hopefully I am not doing too much. In this card I used the Cloudy Days stamp by Pink By Design that I won. I love it!! The rest of the cuts were from the Paper Doll Dress up cartridge and the Martha Stewart Seasonal cake cartridge( I love it, it is more than just for cakes). The Happy haunting stamp came from the dollar bin at Michaels or Joann's as was the ribbon. And of course buttons and rhinestones. Paper is from DCWV and georgia pacific:) I used pop dots for the pumpkins, but it is hard to tell with this view ( not a photographer, by any means, lol)

Hope you like:)

Halloween cards I put together

Here is an easel card I made recently, The finished card size is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
I used the Martha Stewart Seasonal cake cart. for the cuts and the paper is from my paper stash, some DCWV and some colorbok and Cloud9Design. I put a purple rosette and added some stickles on it and the stamp...Happy haunting was from the $1 bin at Michaels or Joann's. Of course I added rhinestones and buttons from my jar:) Hope you enjoy, more to follow;)

Halloween wreath

A couple of days ago I was scrolling down my list of blogs I follow and a Halloween wreath made from paper rosettes caught my eye.  Go to www.pinkcricut.com if you want to see her tutorial and make one too, it was fun and easy.  So now that I gave the nice lady credit, here is mine.. I used Cloud9 designs paper I got on clearanc. and some DCWV paper and I used my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and some assorted buttons and my trusty glue gun.  The skeleton and the mummy were cut at 4 1/2 and the web was at 5 " the spider at 3" and the frog at 2".  I hope you like it!!

Another recently made card:)

Here is another card I made recently with one of my go to cartridge...Create A Critter.  I have a Thinking of you sentiment stamp I bought at a local craft shop. I believe the seal and accessories were cut at 3 inches and the papers are all from DCWV.  Of course I had to add googley eyes, love them. and the ribbon I got from Joann's craft store in the $1.00 rack.  Hope you like my card:-)

Altered Items

Here is a couple of Giant wooden clothes pins I purchased at Michael's.  I took them home and used acrylic paints on them and then I went through my scrap pack and found some paper from K&Company and DCWV, cut strips @ 6 3/4 by 1 1/2.  secured them on the clothes pins with Modge podge and then coated them with 2 more coats so they could be used for recipe card holders and be protected from spatters .
Then I added some flowers I had picked up at Michaels and a little bling with rhinestones.  I like how they came out....hope you do too:)

new card post #6

Here is a card I made a long time ago, it was my first attempt at a side step car.  (I think this is what it is called). I saw in a magazine in , which i believe was Card Magazine, a side step card made to look like a bureau.  I thought it was adorable and so I tried it.  I used brads i found in my husbands desk fro drawer knobs, and the cuts were from the Simply Charmed Cartridge. (Which I borrowed from my future daughter in law).  This is one of the first cards I made back in December, and I don't have the specifics on it, sorry.  I have made about   250-300 cards, and I figured I should share some of my cards. Hope you like, feel free to critique, I love advice.  That's how we grow:)

New card post #5 !!!!

Better late than never..my Christmas in July cards.lol.  Here I made a couple of cards  for Christmas and I wanted to use the Action Wobbles I bought.. Love those wobbles, they make the little ones giggle, some adults too.
Recipe:
Ivory plain card stock, 8 1/2 x 11, scored in half
Mat.5 1/4 x 8 1/4 mint green
patterned paper Recollections Seasonal paper 8 x5"
Bell cut @  3 1/2 from Wrap it up Cricut Cartridge and  Action wobble added to the back
assorted flowers and small rhinestone from my stash
assorted buttons from my button jar
Lace across the top from clearance bin from local discount store
I keep the insides blank on most cards

For the second card I used the same papers except for the glitter paper I used for the the roof for santa that I got from DCWV.    The Santa I put on an Action Wobble, isn't he cute?  I cut him from the Simply Charmed cartridge I borrowed from  my Future Daughter in law cut at 2 1/2  inches and the chimney at the same 2 1/2 inches.  I cut the presents from same cartridge I believe at  1 1/2 inches and adde pop dots to give a 3D effect.  The shiney ho ho hos came from a Crop I attended last year that was used for decoration on the tables ( waste not want not) and ribbon I got from Joanns craft store.

That is it, hope you like it:) Cathy

Halloween cards... 4th posting!!

There........ I finally posted some cards again.  I took some pictures of the cards and mini albums today.  As I was doing it, I decided, I was not putting enough bling and embellishments.  So I think I am going to go through my boxes of cards and do some redos.  I just have difficulty with the whole uploading, downloading..linking to and back from and so on and so on.lol  Oh well, I suppose it takes time.  So here is card post #4.
Recipe:
8 1/2 x 11 scored in half white card stock
orange card stock 8 1/4 x 5 1/4
8 x 5" Seasonal Cloud 9 paper
Boo..from Martha Stewart  Seasonal cake art cartridge..@2 1/2" and shadowed w/colored cardstock
pumpkins cut @ 2x3" from MS cake cartridge
cat cut at 1 1/2"  MS cake cart.
goblin cut @3" from Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge
Ribbon from Joann's craft store, $1 bin
Faux stitching around the purple  card stock
Assorted buttons from my button jar

 There you have it!
 More to come!!
