card makin weekend

Good evening my friends, today was yet another rainy day. I think I am going to sprout mushrooms soon, I wish some of this rain would go out west where it is needed and let us dry out.
Well this weekend I made a few cards and had such fun. first I mad a birthday card for my sister who loves owls.

I used the Stampin Up Owl punch , so I used my Xyron Create A sticker to run all the pieces through, to make it easy.

Next, I wanted to make a card and gift bag set using the Graphic 45 Secret garden collection, here is what I came up with!
card

gift bag

and next....I need to restock on sympathy cards and wanted to try out the new Martha Stewart deep punch I just got...and I used one of the 3 D flowers I made.

And lastly I did a wobble card with a Peachy Jeen face.  the flower wobbles, I did a short video of the card in action, not sure what wobbled more, my filming or the card.lol so here is a pic of just the card.

Hope you like what you saw and will come back soon:)

MCCR November 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Good morning crafters, and welcome to..
 November's My Cricut Craft Rooms 100 Cartridge Blog Hop, day 2.  Glad you are here.  This months theme is Christmas.  I realise we have not had thanksgiving yet, but we want to give you ideas and inspiration for your holiday card making and decorations and gifts.  There is nothing nicer and more cherished than Home made.     So here we go........

Card #1

The first of the cartridges I used was the  Winter Frolic cardtridge, which has some wonderful features and images,  There is something in there for everyone.  My card is a 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock folded in half, on which I used papers from DCWV's Seasonal stack.  I made 4 mats, each 1/4 inch shorter than the other.  And then on them I used 2 mats 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 and cut 2 pieces of patterend paper 1/4 in smaller.   On one mat I put a strings of  colored Rhinestones and a picece of colonial white cardstock that I used a friends' Martha Stewart "Gift" border punch, did not get the name but going to research it and put it on my Christmas list. hehehe.

On the second mat, I cut out a Gift giving mouse from Winter Frolic with Recollections card stock and papers from DCWV and Bo Bunny.  The mouse was at 3.5 inches.  On the inside I used the phrase "For You" .

                                                                                            ~~~
                                                                                          Card #2
 This card was made with the Paisleycartridge, It is 5 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2.  There is a 3 and 1/2 inch wide band that I made to go around the card to keep it closed. and decorated it with beautiful roses from the Artiste cartridge. and added some brown and rose colored leaves, as well as 2 ornaments i cut from Artiste as a tie in to go with the patterned paper from DCWV Christmas and Winter Stack.  At the top of both fold are swirls of pink rhinestones I got at walmart in the Clearance bin.
On the inside I cut out a cute monkey from Paisley with a sucker.  he is such a cutie.lol  "happy Holidays comes from the Winter Frolic cartridge.  On the 2 side flaps I put some Christmas trees from WF as well.
I just LOVE the roses from Artiste and Art Philosophy!!
 ~~
Card #3
 This card I made with Echo park papers from last year.  The cartridge is 3 Birds on Parade. This is another versatile cartridge.  I love it.  The santa bird that I cut from the 3 Birds cartridge is sitting on an action wobble. I had recorded a small video to show you how he dances, but could  not get it to load, sorry.  I hade some scalloped square mats to put him on that was embossed as well with Holly leaves.
I tried to take a close up picture of the round glass balls that matched the papers,  a little blurry, I love them!  They are Crystal candy Dots from Pebbles INC.  On the inside I used the sentiment from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.
Card #4
This is a "telescoping card".  The bird is from 3 Birds on Parade, and all the rest of the cuts are from the Artiste cartridge.  Papers used were a combination of Close To My Heart and Recollections.  Th cold little biry was cut at 3 inches. I used a little Stickles on  his pom pom and the liner of his boots.   The mittens on the middle section were cut at 2 inches with a shadow.  I used trendy twine to tie them together.  Then added a little Bling:) I used several different shapes on each layer to make it easy to distinguish the layers.
The different cuts that were used were on pages 79, 35 and 31 of the Artiste booklet.
This is what the card looks like fully opened.  On the last layer I added the sentiment...Baby it's cold outside..i like how it turned out. if you would like to try this typ of card and have nevertried it here is a link to a tutorial. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/telescopingcard/
Other supplies  used in making the cards, Expression2, Fiskars trimmer, paper piercer, gel pens, atg gun, dimensionals, brads, Tim Holts distress inks,  Zig pen Liquid glass and fabritac.
Hope you enjoyed my projects today and they inspired you to try something new.
Birthday card
Good morning friends.  What a nice day it is gong to be!  No humidity, sun shining,birds singing, it is wonderful!  Yesterday was hot and HUMID, great day to stay in and make a card, so that is what I did.   It was a quick simple card, made with DCWV Sweet stack.   I had a hankering for a card made with pinks and browns and so this is the color theme of the day.  I love the Sweet Stack.
I love the pink and brown together:)
I used Core'dinations card stock for the base and then cut the mat with Colonial white. I also used Martha Stewart's doily border punch to make a border at the bottom.  To embellish it I had some BO Bunny gems, and the sentiment was from a small sentiment stamp set I got at Michaels.  The circle and scalloped circle were cut with the Cricut using Art Philosophy Cartridge and the ribbon was leftover from my stash of ribbons. The card is all held together with my ATG gun and some pop dots between the layers of the circles, and Fabritac for ribbon.
Hope you liked the card,come on back tomorrow for some more creativity,
Card Creating Tuesday at MCCR
Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craftroom
Today is Card creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room and todays' sketch card to follow is below. I chose to do this sketch as a reminder of my dad, who I lost 30 years ago and he was the best dad.!
He was not a cowboy, but he played in a local band, and the music was Country and western, and so i decided to just change the cards a little and instead of using a dress shirt, I used the cuts from the Paper Doll Dress  Up cartridge.
I decided to make my card a 6x6 because I just got some envelopes for that size.
I used some paper that I got from a kit to make Army Scrap book pages, one of them had like a worn blue jean look to it, it was perfect, I just sanded the edges and the pockets.
     I cut all the pieces to fit a 5 inch paperdoll.  I made him a hat and a lasso of course:) I faux stitched the neckerchief and hat.  I used Close To My Heart white card stock, DCWV card stock from the All About Boys stack, and some cocoa and yellow [a[er from my scraps.  I   used my atg gun to adhere the papers as well as the Zig pen.  For the shirt buttons and the embellishing I used BO Bunny gems.
      For the "Best Dad"  I used the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake cartridge. I cut the words and the shadow at 1.25 inches.  It seemed to be lacking something so I hi lighted with a little Stickles.  Voila///add a few pop dots and also some Tim Holtz walnut distress ink, and done.
Now you have two more stops. Head over to Erica's store here. She has great deals and keeps adding products. You will find something you have to have at a great price. When you are done shopping there, head over to her blog here to check out what the rest of the design
team made to share.
  Have a great day and happy crafting:)   Cathy
First Card Finally
Here is a card I made.  ( keep in mind I am new at doing this, hehe)  This card was made with DCWV  The Sweet stack .  I also used Cricut Georges basic Shapes to make the flowers cut at 2 1/2" , 2" .1 1/2" , 1 1/4" and 1" from asst'd  solid color paper from Wal Mart and DCWV.  I also put a doily as a base to the octagon shape from GBS cartridge cut at 2, 2 1/2 and 3".  I cut a strip of white card stock and used Martha Stewart punch  Doily lace.  I added 3 buttons on the bottom and a Center button (can not remember where I got it) that says..." Thinking of you makes me smile"   Inside the card is blank.  Thanks for any critiques.  have a great day.    PHEW!!!  I did it:.
