Close To My Heart frames

Close To My Heart

Hello everyone, how is everyone tonight??  I have to tell you, I have had enough winter, I am soooo ready for spring, flowers, the smell of a fresh cut lawn... Oh well, only a couple more months to go.

In the mean time, lets talk Close To My Heart.  I recently purchased a couple of the Bracket frames (Z1797) that CTMH sells.  I stared at them off and on for a couple weeks, trying to figure what I would do with them.  Well as it so happens I had a babyshower coming up and thought I could maybe come up with a gift idea for it.. well once I got started. I was onfire and could not stop til it was done.  With  the use of my cricut, Artiste (z1790) and Art Philosophy(Z1686) cartridges, Babycakes(x7173b)  I also used the Special Care stamp set.

To hold the banner I sued the CTMH clothes Pin Minis (z1815) and some twine (z1751) the harvest assortment.  The inks used were the Chocolate and autimn terracotta.

So, this is what I did with one of them.  Super fun.  If you would like to try one of these your self, head over to my website here
and pick one up for yourself.  For as little as $8.95 you can have one too.  While you are there, take a look around, check out the "while supplies last" and if you spend $50.00 (before tax and shipping,) you will be eligible for the Stamp of the month, a size D stamp set valued at $17.95 for only $5.00.

thanks for stopping by. Oh and  by the way...February 1st the Spring and Summer Idea book goes LIVE!!!

 Tata for now :)

Double Dutch fold

Double Dutch Fold

Good evening everyone, how was your day?  Mine was a busy one on the road.  Third day on a row.  My husband has been having testing for his heart.. stress tests, that they do when you are in a wheelchair and can not walk on a treadmill.  Come to find out he may have a blockage, which they are going to try to treat with meds for now.

Anyways, after supper tonigh, I wanted to try a card I saw this morning on Splitcoast stampers.  It is a double dutch fold card.  It was real easy and fun.

you start with 2 pieces of card stock..one at 9x 4 3/16 and the other is 2 by 8 1/2

Score the 4 3/16 by 9 paper at 5 1/2.
Score the 2 by8 1/2 at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8.
then with your adhesive, ( I used liquid so it would give me a little playroom to make sure it lined up good) you adhere the center section of the 2 by 8 1/2 behind the lower part of the 4 3/16 by 9, so that when the top folds down, it meets the top of the side flaps.
I then cut out a border with a punch and glued it behind the fop flpa and decorated with Graphic 45 French Country and scraps of cardstock, I made a daisey with the art Philosophy cartridge and put a pearl brad through it and punched out leaves with a Martha Stewart punch.  Used Close to My Heart Lagoon Ink pad and a close to my heart stamp and one I got from a yard sale.  Also some ribbon was used I got at Joanns and the ribbon embellishment buckle I got from a RAK

Well I hope you like my card and my instructions were understandable.  If not here is the tutorial

Thanks for stopping in to see my card today!

Just want to mention, I am a little short on my goal this month for Close To My Heart, if there is anything at all you need, would appreciate if you could take a minute and head to my website, and click Join Cathy's Christmas in July gathering:)
Thanks in advance!!

Have a great night

Claire

Close To My Heart
Claire paper Card

Good morning all..wow, a morning post, unusual for me lately, usually I post in the evenings.  Well over the weekend i made several cards to add to my stash of cards that I sell at the fairs in the fall.  I had not used the Claire paper pack from Close To My Heart in a while and I just got a new stamp set in, and could not wait to try it, It was the June stamp of the Month for Close to My Heart.
I love this set!!

The card I made is a 6x6, I like this size card, gives you plenty of room to play.  Love the paper, such a pretty combination of colors. Glad I got it when I could, wish I would have got more :(
I stamped the image on Daisy white card stock and colred it in with the inks and water brush pen.  Added a little bling. and I had a couple of butterflies that were given to me from a friend by her punch. and some ribbon from Close to My Heart.
other supplies used were atg gun, fabritac, trimmer, Art Philosophy cartridge, Marth Stewart deep lace punch, and Voila!!

Hope you like and, I love hearing from you, if there is anything you need from Close To My heart.. head here

Have a great day!!! Cathy

birthday

Good morning all and happy Sunday to all!!  I hope the sun comes out today, was dreary all day yesterday and poured all night.  I need the sun to dry the grass so I can mow it before a need to hire some sheep or something.lol

I put together a bunch of cards yesterday, had to make up for lost time.  I found some single pieces of 6x6 papers, not sure what they are from, but were so pretty, I needed to use them up.  One of my favorite cards are the Easel cards, so I took out my trusty Art Philosophy cartridge and cut out the butterfly, flower and sentiment layers.  If you do not have this cartridge yet, you need to get it. You will find that you will get a LOT of use out of it.  It comes with 3 coordinating stamp sets, and 3 sheets of chpboard coordinating pieces, all for $99.00 and you are in luck, I am a consultant for Close To My Heart and you can go to my link below and place your order for it through me :)))

I of course added some bling and some flowers I got from a friend, and some ribbon.

I hope you like how my card turned out, I love the colors and print!!  Please come back again!!

Have a GREAT Sunday

Here is what I made for a project today....the funny thing is, I had a card all made for this hop, and then I saw this cut on the Artiste cartridge, and I had to try it.lol

I picked up a paper pak of 12x12 papers from K&Co.   The papers are gorgeous.  The pad is called Sweet Nectar.

The mail box was cut from the Artiste cartridge at 3 Inches and scored and glued together.  I used Bazzil paper to make the flag and border, and embellished with yellow string beads and lace.  On the top I added some mulberry roses. and stamped "A warm hello" on the flag.

The flowers were all cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge with the exception of the blue rose which I used a punch.. retro flower lg. and layered it and rolled it and used the Gilmore flower maker tools to shape it and glue gun to hold together.  I used Tim Holtz distress pads to ink edges of the flowers with Pickled Raspberries ink.

On the mailbox door, along with the assorted flowers, there is a mini envelope I made and inked, laying under the flowers, not sure if you can see it.  I really had fun making this, now what to do with it.lol

Here is the blog candy picture below....Yummy huh?? Well you will want to visit and comment on each blog as well as become a follower of each to be eligible to win!!! Easy peasey :)

Christmas stars

I just wanted to do a quick post to show you some more craft fair  goodies I have been making.  I saw something like these the other day and it inspired me to try them. I can not remember if I saw them on Pinterest, or blogger or FB. but if the oringinal artist is out there please let me know I would love to give you recognition.  I am going to call these Christmas star pots.  the original crafter had these stars in Spools, but i had these small flower pots kicking around, they were rejects from a dowel mill, they all have a defect.  Made me think of Rudolph cartoon and the "misfit" toys,  I hated to toss or burn these wooden pots so I gavr them a purpose, table centerpieces or fireplace or shelf decor.  Someone mentioned they would make cute table place markers.   Any how, List of supplies used:

acrylic paint
Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges
ribbon
CTMH inks and stamps
glue gun
Bo Bunny gems
cotton bandages (tops of mittens and stockings)
Crafters Moss
white Flock (patches glued on to look like patches of snow)
Bells
Dowels
assrted Christmas papers
Buttons

Hope you like them, if you have any questions, be sure to message me!

Magical Keys!!

Santa's Magical Keys

Hi everyone, how we doing today, the 6th of November, voting day.  Did you vote??  I did. I was on the road today, most of the day, but when I got back in town, I made sure my husband and I voted.  I will not disclose how I voted, but I will say I hope the one who will do the best for the the country wins.

Now on to my project  for today.  I saw this idea on Pinterest, but I designed my own and created my own poem for the back.  I made some tags with which there are magical keys for those children who have NO chimneys for Santa to slide down, or homes that the parents lock the doors at night.  The children just leave the key out side the door and only Santa can use them to get in:)

For the tags, I cut them out with the Art Philosophy cartridge, and also used Winter Frolic cartridge too.

Other supplies used were:
Recollection paper
Echo park paper
Alphabets stamp set from Michaels
Tim Holtz keys
assorted ribbons
Bo Bunny gems
Burlap
fabritac
atg gun
liquid Glass
lace with tear drop pearls
Flat back pearls from MB Treasurista
3 Girl Jam ribbon
Knitted glove from local craft store
Stampin Up Merry Christmas stamp

I hope I inspired you to create your own!!!!

                                                               Happy Crafting!!

Scrapbook Friday at MCCR

Welcome to my design team post for My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday project.  This weeks post is a scrapbook page focusing on Fall. What I decided to do was use a picture I just got of my beautiful 2 year old grand daughter Isabella Maye who recently went to Pumpkin Land here in Maine. This is a place that is known for having a lot of fun things to do and see, for people of all ages.  A lot of people look forwar to it opening in the fall.  There is a big corn field Maze, rides, a bunny farm, a barn with cows and pigs, goats and ponies for rides.  Games and rides and lots of fun things to do.

She is like me and LOVES animals as you can see.lol.   She kisses them all!

I used my Art Philosphy cartridge to make the mat under the picture, a well as the leaves down the side, the fonts and the hearts and tag.

For the tag, I created a pocket for it to go in and added some paper lace that a Scrappin friend gave to me.  On the tag and the font below I added a pumpkin I cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge.

After I put the page together, I went around the page and added some hilites with a white and black gel pen, and added pearls from Bo Bunny. I put pop dots under the hearts just to add a little dimension.  Papers used were from Close to My Heart, and some papers I purchased from Erica, and can not remember who the company was. Of course I used my Cricut Expression 2 and my fiskar paper trimmer, and atg gun and zig pen.  That is my project for today, so to see more projects be sure to go to http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

Have a great day and happy crafting....Cathy
